Quick Tip: The Repurposed Caddy

For us, paper plates and plastic forks are essential items in our camper.

There are times when we are boondocking and can’t waste our precious water to wash dishes.

There are times when we are playing and can’t waste our precious time to wash dishes.

So disposable it is!

But being well stocked in these disposable supplies was giving me grief. I could never get to what I needed when I needed it. Sometimes we ate outside, sometimes we ate inside and I was constantly throwing together a collection of flatware on the fly.

I searched every Bed, Bath and Beyond from Oregon to Arizona looking for the right picnic caddy but couldn’t find anything that met my needs… UNTIL…

Just recently, I was in Walmart, restocking my paper and plastic ware, when I ran across a shower caddy left over the the “back to school” stock. I could tell immediately that my bowls and plates would fit on either side and the remaining spots were perfect to contain my forks, spoons and knives. Here is a workable version of this

I plan to decopage it with stickers from our travels in our free time to make it look for appealing but for now… its just ‘grab the handle’ and go!
