This is a forested park, the Russian river can be accessed from the park, but no camp sites border the river. The river cannot be heard nor seen from the camp sites. There is a rocky area where one can stand and view the river, officially called “The Sandy River Bank”. The water is accessible, slows down in this area and looks like it would have some excellent fishing holes. The park has very little for the kids, just a tether ball, basket ball hoop and a small playground. The family lodge and store are off limits to kids under 18 without their parents present. The lodge has a TV, several tables with puzzles and a pool table.
The sites in the park can be challenging to motor homes over 34′ and and large trailers, though there are sites that will accommodate these rigs. If the park ever gets full, the larger sites required by big rigs might be off limits. Take care while driving in this park, we watched a 36′ class “A” destroy its back end on a tree, while leaving the dump station.
