This park is about 80 miles north of Orlando, and nowhere near anything else except the west coast of Florida. Crystal River state park is nearby, and rather nice. The park itself has way more road noise than we like, and they have street lights everywhere as the management is very concerned about security. Unlike most Thousand Trails parks, this one is not gated, but there are no large cities or bad neighborhoods nearby.  The park is nice, the staff are friendly, and everything was clean and tidy. The park is about 3 miles from the freeway, so it is a good place for a night or two on the way in or out of Florida.  We stayed here four days, and we felt we had been here long enough due to lack of sleep. The pool was unheated and the buildings were shut for winter.  We stayed at the “Crystal River – Encore park” when we came back from the southern part of the state. That park had a lot more for the kids to do, as well as a lake for us to walk around. We found Crystal river is too far off the freeway though if just passing through and staying for a night. This one is very convenient for stop overs.
